# Code of ethics

These are the principles behind how we work. Most of them are already terms of
our [contract](/terms/) or commitments made elsewhere on this site; this page
gathers them in one place. Where a principle is also a contract term, the terms
are what bind.

## Honest about scope and price

The price basis is [published](/what-it-costs/), every engagement is confirmed
in writing before it begins, and a change is priced before it is made. You know
what you are buying before you pay for it, and nothing is added without your
say.

## What you tell us stays with us

Everything we learn about your business stays with us, during the engagement
and after it. We sign your NDA if you have one and keep to the same standard if
you do not, and nothing about your systems appears on this website without your
written consent.

## The people you meet do the work

The people named in the engagement are the people who do the work. A specialist
brought in is announced first, with the reason, and we stay responsible for
everything delivered.

## What we build is yours

On full payment, what we build for you is yours. We tell you which third-party
components are in it and under which licences, and we leave the documentation
that lets your own people run it without us. The [terms](/terms/) set out the
details.

## No bribes, either way

We neither offer nor accept a bribe or any other improper advantage, in Denmark
or anywhere else. That is the law before it is a principle: the Danish Criminal
Code makes both a crime, in public service (sections 122 and 144) and in private
business (section 299(2)).

## Practised here first

This website keeps to what we recommend. It sets no cookies and sends nothing
to a third party, which the [security](/security/) page shows you how to check
from your own browser. It is built to meet WCAG 2.2 at level AA, and its
[accessibility statement](/accessibility/) names the one criterion it meets only
in part.

## Raising a concern

If you think we have fallen short of anything on this page, write to
[welcome@engineer.company](mailto:welcome@engineer.company) and say what happened. A person reads every message, and we reply
personally.

Want to know how one of these works in practice?
[ask us](/contact/) *(ask before you sign, not after)*.
