Copyright and reuse

What on engineer.company belongs to Engineer ApS, what is borrowed and credited, and what you may link to, quote, index or reuse without asking.

The words, the design and the code of this site are © Engineer ApS. So are the brand mark, the cog, the mascot in every pose, the portrait and the photographs of our Copenhagen office. Most of what you might want to do with them needs no permission at all, and this page says which uses do.

What you may do without asking

  • Link to any page, from anywhere, with any words you like.
  • Quote from it. Danish copyright law lets anyone quote a published work in accordance with proper usage and to the extent the purpose requires (section 22 of the Copyright Act, ophavsretsloven), naming the source as proper usage asks. A link back to the page you quote names it best, and we are glad to see it used.
  • Index it, and let AI read it. Search engines and AI systems may crawl these pages, index them, answer questions from them and train on them. The site’s robots.txt says so in a form machines read: Content-Signal: search=yes, ai-input=yes, ai-train=yes.

What needs our permission first

  • republishing a whole page, or a substantial part of one;
  • using the brand mark, the cog or the mascot;
  • using the portrait or the photographs of our office.

Write to welcome@engineer.company and say what you have in mind. That is what “All rights reserved” at the foot of every page means.

What is borrowed

  • Typefaces, icons and the photographed walls belong to their makers and are used under their licences or with their permission. The credits page names each one, who made it and the terms it comes under.
  • The photographs in the bands across these pages come from Pixabay, under the Pixabay Content License, and each names its photographer to a screen reader. To reuse one, take it from Pixabay under that licence.
  • Product names and logos are trademarks of their owners. Naming a product claims no endorsement from its owner.

Work we do for clients

What we build specifically for a client belongs to that client once it is paid for in full, as the terms of business set out. Tools of our own that it uses stay ours, and the client gets a perpetual, irrevocable licence to use them within that work.

If you think we have used your work

Write to welcome@engineer.company with the address of the page and the work you mean. A person reads every message, and we reply personally.
